Third Annual "Run for the Paws" 6K Run/Walk - Saturday, January 31st, 2009 (The Humane Society Naples, 8:00am start) Take your canine companion on a 6k walk/run around the airport in this incredibly popular annual event.  We had over 400 humans and 50 dogs compete in the 2008 race!  Prizes are awarded to both dogs and people and it's a great opportunity to support your local no-kill shelter.  Download this form to learn about team registration as a sponsor, or register online today!  2009 Pet Lovers Ball - Saturday, February 7th, 2009 (The Port Royal Club; 5 pm - 11 pm) Our eighth annual Pet Lovers Ball is themed "Pets Under the Palms" which is emphasized by the beautiful beachfront location.  The magical evening offers a gourmet dinner, open bar and silent and live auctions with the Honorable Mayor Bill Barnett serving as auctioneer.  The highlight of the evening is the presentation of our Walter Turken, Animal Advocate and Animaltarian Awards which are given to three local individuals or groups in recognition for their outstanding service on behalf of animals.  The night is capped off with dancing to Stan Spiro and his 16-piece big bank Townsmen Orchestra.  This is a truly special affair: guests will enjoy fine dining in a wonderful atmosphere with lively silent and live auctions all the while knowing that their generous donations benefit the orphaned pets at The Humane Society Naples.  Tickets are $275 each; for tickets please call 643-1880, ext. 18.  Sponsorship opportunities are also still available; please call for more information.  "Spay"ghetti (no meatballs) Dinner - Tuesday, February 24th, 2009   (Location: Humane Society Naples, 370 Airport Road North; Time: 5 pm - 8 pm) Help us celebrate Spay Day with this al fresco Italian dinner!  Stay tuned for more information.
